wow, it's hard to believe it...but, in less than 2 weeks, the kids and i will be in Stroncone, Italy!
when i was approached with the opportunity to work out of the country with max and cristiana, it seemed like a dream come true, but when my kids were invited to be a part...well, it definately took this to the next level! we have been planning for this for the last 5 months, and now the excitement, fear, anticipation is starting to reach a new height!
i know i will be fine, but will 2 kids ages 8 and 12 be?! they speak no italian, have never been out of the country, away from their friends and their father...what have i gotten myself into??!! LOL!
i think this will be such an exciting opportunity for a great learning adventure! We will be visiting as many places that they kids have studied in school as we can...Rome, Genoa (cristopher columbus' hometown), Pompeii, Vinci (da Vinci's hometown) as well as other adventures that max won't tell me about yet!
Stroncone will be our 'home base' for this trip. it is a village built in 1000 and is absolutely beautiful in architecture and culture. our apartment is in the center of town, 2 bedroom with a small kitchen and living room with fireplace. max tells me that the local grocer and butcher are a few doors down, and will be quite interesting for the kids to see! we also will be a 5 min. walk from max/cris/fede, our italian family.
we will try to be posting to this blog as often as possible, and updating with images and such as we go along. we want to take our friends along with us on our journey too...so, please feel free to post comments and questions about what you see posted here.
