one week from today, we will be landing in rome! the panic is officially starting to set in...
max and i were able to connect through ichat today, and our italian family seems to have some wonderful things planned for my children and i. a trip to florence, and staying in a b&b in the center of town (florence is where the academia is...michaelangelo's david) as well as a beautiful duomo and many many many other cool spots), a trip to the mountains, Sibillini Chain, in the umbria region of italy, and other surprises that max refuses to share with me. i've explained i'm not good with surprises, but, still he will not share the rest of our itinerary...
today was spent doing laundry, finishing up studio work, as well as work done for the goss opera house. the goss is a historical building in watertown that is being renovated by david and nancy-turbak berry, and being restored to its grand originality. i've been lucky enough to be the photographer for the project...so, it's truly been a fun playground to play in. if you'd like to see some of the images of the goss opera house, go to http://www.gossoperahouse.com
tomorrow will be PACKING. i'm still unsure on how to pack all of the camera gear for the commercial work, the clothing, and the teaching things that we will need for 3 weeks. laundry will not be a problem, but, no dryer...max tells me 'it is far more romantic to dry clothing by sun in italy'. this makes me laugh, because i think NO ONE will think it romantic to see our 'unders' in the sun!
our euro's arrived yesterday, so, our money situation is converted, and the kids are excited to see the 'monopoly money'. i keep explaining this is REAL money...and not to be lost...we'll see how well this all works out.
back to work for me...keep checking our blog frequently, as we will try to be posting our adventures as they occur.
ciao,
h
