isn't the way the nursery rhyme goes?
we got home late last night/early this morning after 20 hours of travel. all of us are shot, but i know happy to be home again. the kids i think had finally had enough of each other, and both were starting to miss different elements of their 'normal' lives.
me...while happy to be home, already deeply miss italy. i love the culture, the art, the things that i can't have here in south dakota...but, i know that i can always go back, and that alone gives me great comfort! november will come soon, and rod and i will be in matera teaching the 'italy art escape', so, i have that to look forward to...
max and cristiana are wonderful friends/business associates/family---forever i will be grateful for all that they shared with the kids and myself, and for the time, love, and effort they put into making our stay the wonderful experience that it was. many amazing memories were created.
the ONLY snag in our entire trip home was that one bag was inadvertently left in italy...and it truly will sound like the 'dog ate my homework' kind of story...but...
KYLE'S HOMEWORK BAG WAS LEFT IN ITALY...
yep, 3 weeks worth of homework.
his books were packed in the rolling backpack, and those came home with us, but the paperwork...NOPE.
max was able to find it, and it is in process of shipping home from italy now. so, all is good...but, it will arrive much later to the school than any of us thought or expected.
but, even that is not enough to put a cloud over anything of the trip!
i have many plans for the images taken, hopefully i'll be able to share some of the commercial endeavors here soon...keep watching for new stuff...
we got slack near the end of the trip in our blogging of adventures as well. as soon as i can get everything unpacked, i will update the blog and add some more images...we did make it to pompeii, as well as a wonderful surprise stop in positano and the mediterranean sea.
ok, off to throw another load of laundry in and grab a quick nap...jetlag is starting to set in,
